RED CROSS INITIATES FIRST AID TRAINING FOR PUNJAB VIDHAN SABHA STAFF
First Aid Training to the staff of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat initiated on August 16 at Punjab Red Cross Bhawan, Sec 16-A, Chandigarh by the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch. This training programme was initiated with the efforts of Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, Vice Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society .It was disclosed by official spokesperson of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

The first session of the training was started in the presence of Mr. Rana K. P. Singh, Speaker; Punjab Vidhan Sabha who was the Chief Guest on this occassion. In his keynote address, Rana K.P. Singh said that Punjab Red Cross is the only organization in the country who initiated the First Aid Training for the staff of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. He said that this step taken by Punjab Red Cross would further inspire the other organizations in future. He said that the main motive of Red Cross is to help the person in the time of calamity and distress, this motive was derived from the good deeds of the epic figures from Ramayan and Mahabharta. This selfless spirit was also derived from the pious social work of Bhai Khanayiya ji.

Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, congratulated Punjab Red Cross & Punjab Vidhan Sabha staff to initiate this training. He said that the first aid training should also be provided to the other departments in the State because it would help to save someone’s life anywhere and anytime. That’s why the first aid course is very important for all of us.

Mr. C. S. Talwar, Secretary informed that Punjab Red Cross is undertaking various welfare activities and providing first aid training is one of them. Providing first aid training to the staff of Punjab Vidhan Sabha is really a privilege for them. By expressing his thanks to Sh. Rana K. P. Singh ji & Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna Ji, he said that all this is become possible because of their support and blessings.

Mr. S. S. Channy , IAS, Chief Information Commissioner was Guest of Honour. He stressed on the importance of such kind of first aid training for the official staff by highlighting the point that it can be instrumental in helping and saving the lives of the persons during the early hours of accidents when the doctors are not around.
